DOD keeps all incumbents for $1.5B CIO IT recompete

The Defense Department agency responsible for acquiring administrative and management support services has stuck with all five incumbents for a new potential five-year, $1.5 billion IT services contract.

Analytic Sciences Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI International, Leidos and Science Applications International Corp. will continue their work with the department's chief information officer organization.

DOD's Washington Headquarters Service runs procurement as a means to acquire support for the department's information enterprise and IT management functions, according to the Pentagon's Friday contracts digest.

The contract is called the DOD CIO Mission Support Services vehicle, or CMMS. These awards are for the second iteration of CMMS.

Awardees will be responsible for work that includes research and analysis, strategic planning, technology performance, standards development and evaluation, software and hardware development and acquisition, software analytical tool customization, and security and administration.

The Pentagon did not disclose a number of bidders in its award notice.
