Army adds 8th company to $610M training support vehicle
Seven originally won seats on the program over the summer, while the newest awardee successfully got a re-evaluation of its bid.
The Army has added an eighth company to a potential five-year, $610 million contract for broad professional services that aid the military branch’s training support center.
Core Government Services was not on the original list of seven winners announced in July and subsequently filed a protest in hopes of getting at least a re-evaluation of its proposals.
In late August, the Government Accountability Office dismissed that protest so the Army could at least take a second look at CGS' bid. Listing number one in the Pentagon's Wednesday awards digest indicates that CGS indeed has gained what it sought after.
CGS will now start to compete for task orders covering work for the Army Training Support Center. That organization is responsible for pushing out more live, virtual and constructive training environments with a gaming element across the service branch in order to create more realistic scenarios for preparation.
A total of 16 companies bid for this second iteration of the Training Support Systems Enterprise program known as TSS-E.
