GCOM appoints new CEO in wake of merger
GCOM's combination with OnCore Consulting brings with it another change at the very senior level.
GCOM's agreement to merge with a fellow public software services provider is not the only significant development for the new entity as it looks to make the most out of their recent combination.
The company's board of directors has appointed a new chief executive in Lisa Mascolo, a three-decade federal market veteran and member of the board. Now-former CEO Kamal Bherwani will return to his seat on the board, GCOM said Tuesday.
In late August, GCOM announced its pact to merge with OnCore Consulting and form a larger provider of technology modernization and digital transformation services to government agencies. The combined entity now touts a presence in 32 U.S. states, including 13 of the 15 most heavily-populated.
A Sagewind Capital-backed company, GCOM also has a federal practice that stems from its acquisition of ASR Analytics in early 2022.
Mascolo most recently led the U.S. public service business unit at IBM and before that worked in leadership roles at Accenture's federal subsidiary.
Bherwani joined GCOM as CEO in 2019 and led the company through its transition from a predominantly services-centric business to one centered around cloud-based products and analytics offerings.
