Cubic hires new finance chief
The 25-year industrial veteran joins one year after the company's acquisition by two private equity investors.
Cubic Corp. has hired a new chief financial officer in Travis Chester, most recently a senior managing director at the real estate-focused investment firm Pretium Partners.
He started in the new role Monday and joins San Diego-headquartered Cubic nearly one year after its $2.4 billion acquisition by private equity firm Veritas Capital and Evergreen Coast Capital, the PE-focused arm of activist hedge fund Elliott Investment Management.
This appointment is the latest leadership change to take place at Cubic in the wake of that transaction.
In January, the defense and transportation company announced its hire of Stevan Slijepcevic as chief executive with former Perspecta CEO Mac Curtis appointed to chair the board of directors.
Chester's career includes multiple CFO and other similar financial leadership roles at General Electric, Life Technologies, Honeywell International and Vixxo Corp.
