TechTrans wins $325M DTRA logistics contract
The Defense Department's lead agency for countering weapons of mass destruction hires a newcomer to aid in a global collaboration program.
TechTrans International has won a potential five-year, $325 million contract for logistics and other related professional services to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
The Defense Department's lead agency for countering weapons of mass destruction received three bids in total for this second iteration of its Threat Reduction Logistics Services contract, the Pentagon said in its Friday awards digest.
Houston-headquartered TechTrans is poised to take over an effort that supports DTRA’s Cooperative Threat Reduction program, through which the U.S. collaborates with partner governments to mitigate threats posed by weapons of mass destruction.
Culmen International won the current contract in 2018 and is currently working on a bridge extension that is slated to expire on Jan. 10. DTRA has obligated approximately $150.7 million to Culmen since the original award, according to GovTribe data.
The new contract for TechTrans has an initial three-year base period followed by a two-year option.
