Space Force finalizes $148M professional services award

Tecolote Research will work with the service branch's organization that acquires launch services and other capabilities for government agencies.

Tecolote Research has secured a five-year, $148.1 million contract for acquisition, financial consulting support and other professional services to Space Force.

The branch’s Space Systems Command sought help from industry to help manage its Assured Access to Space organization, which acquires launch services and other on-orbit activities for government agencies.

SSC finalized the award on Wednesday as Tecolote was the lone company to submit a bid, according to the Pentagon’s contracts digest.

AATS is responsible for initiating and carrying out launch service agreements, plus facilitating the transition to new launch systems that provide agencies affordable assured access to space.

Tecolote will provide broad advisory and assistance services to the AATS team that cover acquisition, financial and administrative aspects. Independent verification and validation work is also part of the requirement, according to solicitation documents.

Tecolote is an employee-owned business headquartered in Goleta, California that provides research, software and analysis services in support of national security missions.

The company has recorded approximately $188.5 million in unclassified prime contract revenue over the trailing 12 months, according to USASpending.gov data.
