Booz Allen wins $550M Energy R&D support recompete

The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy first chose Booz Allen Hamilton for the work in 2012.

Booz Allen Hamilton has won the recompete of a contract for broad professional services in support of the Energy Department agency responsible for funding research and development work on advanced technologies.

This new iteration of the contract has a $550 million ceiling over 10 years, including one initial base year and up to nine individual option years. The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy made the award on Tuesday and received five offers in total, according to Federal Procurement Data System records.

ARPA-E uses the contract to acquire scientific, engineering, technical, professional, financial and administrative support services.

Booz Allen first won the work in 2012 at a ceiling of $73.1 million over up to five years. ARPA-E has since awarded five sole-source bridge contracts to continue the services with the current award slated to expire on Feb. 29, according to Deltek data.

The company's announcement of the original award describes some of the core support as including assistance for the entire R&D program lifecycle, helping ARPA-E build a more transparent funding opportunity announcement progress, subject matter technical support to the application review process, and supporting the management of the active R&D project portfolio.
