NGA brings in more companies for $795M research, development contract

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has awarded four companies spots on a potential seven-year, $794.1 million contract whose name describes the nature of the work: Research Development Contract.

Booz Allen Hamilton will continue its incumbency on the program, which NGA uses to further test and iterate geospatial capabilities such as preproduction hardware and software prototypes.

Lockheed Martin, Reinventing Geospatial and Solis Applied Sciences are the newcomers that NGA announced Jan. 25.

They will also work with NGA to integrate the technologies and applications into acquisition programs, plus connect the agency to cloud computing environments.

NGA has set 35% as its intended small business subcontracting goal for RDC, which will have an initial five-year base period and a two-year option.
