Navy wraps up awards for $250M undersea tech contract

The Navy has finalized its award of 15 positions on a five-year contract with a $245.9 million ceiling that covers research-and-development work on undersea systems.
Every company that submitted a proposal for the Undersea Weapons and Undersea Defensive Family of Systems contract received an award, according to the Pentagon's Tuesday contracts digest.
Awardees are:

- Innovative Defense Technologies
- L3Harris Technologies
- Leidos
- Leonardo DRS' naval power systems unit
- Lockheed Martin
- McLaughlin Research
- Mike Inc.
- Progeny Systems
- QorTek
- Research and Development Solutions
- RTX's Raytheon BBN Technologies subsidiary
- Serco's U.S. subsidiary
- Sonalysts
Companies will also compete for task orders to test, develop and evaluate those systems that the Navy is emphasizing rapid prototyping of.
The solicitation released in June 2023 calls out payloads, propulsion, electrical power, guidance and control, and non-payload sensors as among the program's 12 functional areas.
