DLA starts the bidding for $12B IT recompete

The Defense Logistics Agency is now ready for industry to start working on bids for a potential 10-year, $12 billion IT services contract vehicle that will have multiple winners.

This contract is the second iteration of DLA's J6 Enterprise Technology Services program also known as JETS, which was originally awarded to dozens of companies in 2016 at a $6 billion ceiling.

Proposals for JETS 2.0 are due to the agency by 3 p.m. Eastern time on May 24, according to the final solicitation posted Wednesday on Sam.gov.

DLA will divide up the awards between three groups with one reserved for general small business and a second for 8(a) small businesses, while the third group is unrestricted.

Awardees will compete for task orders to provide applications, infrastructure, software, hardware, research-and-development and other services that support projects across DLA's information operations enterprise.

JETS 2.0 has an initial base period of five years, followed by a five-year option period. The contract also outlines how DLA can conduct an on-ramp process for adding new companies to the vehicle, along with ways the agency can off-ramp an awardee if they are not competitive for task orders.

DLA has obligated approximately $2.5 billion in funding against the current JETS contract to-date, according to GovTribe data.
