DISA looks for help to manage DEOS program
The Defense Information Systems Agency is seeking program management and other support for the massive cloud-based collaboration tool effort.
The Defense Information Systems Agency has kicked off development of a recompete of the contract it uses to manage the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions program.
Awarded to General Dynamics in 2020, the DEOS contract covers the implementation of cloud-based email and collaboration tools for up to 4 million end users.
Separate to that: DISA hired Booz Allen Hamilton in 2017 to provide program management and other support in developing the contract. In 2020, the company received a $60.5 million sole-source contract to continue its role through 2023.
A new request for information is seeking to find out if there are enough competitors to provide that support and whether enough small businesses can compete for the contract.
Responses to the RFI are due Sept. 28. The solicitation number is 622268970 and DISA is calling the contract "Technical and Engineering Support for the DEOS Program."
Among the services DISA wants are program, operations, engineering and technical support.
The agency also wants interested companies to describe their experience supporting large-scale cloud migrations.
Work will include classified and unclassified networks as well as so-called D-DIL environments, or denied, disconnected, intermittent and limited bandwidth domains.
DISA wants respondents to include their experience identifying gaps and problems during integration projects.
Some of the functional areas that the contractor will have to manage are cybersecurity, engineering, contracts, finance and business operations.
DISA has not decided whether this will be a standalone contract or through an existing vehicle. Booz Allen’s contract was awarded through DISA’s Systems Engineering, Technology and Innovation vehicle known as SETI.
