Sabel Systems takes in new private equity backing
This research-and-development company becomes Sagewind Capital's sixth active government contracting investment.
Private equity firm Sagewind Capital has acquired the majority ownership of Sabel Systems Technology Solutions, a provider of research-and-development services to federal agencies including the Defense Department.
Sabel opened for business in 2001 and employs approximately 200 people that support clients such as the Air Force, Army, Space Force and Marine Corps.
Terms of the transaction announced Wednesday were not disclosed, while Sabel becomes Sagewind’s sixth active government technology investment. Aechelon, By Light, Sigma Defense, Tria Federal and Voyatek are the other five.
Dayton, Ohio-headquartered Sabel’s flagship offering is its Digital Engineering Cloud, which the company designed to lean on commercial software in helping users see engineering and business applications in one virtual environment.
