Find opportunities — and win them.

The now-650 employee company further builds out its internal incubation team that works on hard defense and intelligence problems.

Core4ce, a data and cyber operations provider for federal agencies, has completed its sixth acquisition since the company’s founding in 2019 in a move to further extend basic and applied research work.

By purchasing Azimuth Corp., Core4ce is looking to beef up its ability to develop and deploy technology for partners and customers alike. Azimuth will add approximately 140 employees to Core4ce’s workforce that now stands at 650 people, the companies said Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, while Azimuth’s founder and CEO Valerie Rossi will shift to a new role as senior vice president and manager of Core4ce’s advanced mission solutions unit.

Rossi started Azimuth in 2001 to work on research-and-development, technical support, security and threat analysis, program management assistance and other similar efforts for national security clients.

Azimuth touts its federal customer base as including the Air Force, that service branch’s Research Laboratory, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and Office of the Secretary of Defense.

For Core4ce, this acquisition follows the establishment of its tech innovation incubator organization dubbed The Forge. Azimuth’s own internal lab focused on autonomy, artificial intelligence and machine learning problems will become a part of The Forge.

This larger version of The Forge will continue to concentrate on research work for defense and intelligence agencies with an emphasis on predictive analytics, autonomous systems and machine learning-driven sensor technology.

Core4ce’s history of acquisitions includes the 2023 additions of Spinvi Consulting and PatchAdvisor, along with the 2021 purchases of Port One Technology Group and Arnold & Associates.
