Find opportunities — and win them.

Phil Jaurigue started the company in 1989 and returned to the CEO post in 2021.

CM Equity Partners, the private investment firm whose government market holdings include A-TEK and Dexis Interactive, has added another contractor to that portfolio with its purchase of Sabre Systems.

As part of the transaction announced Thursday, Sabre has promoted two-decade company veteran James Norris to lead it as president and appointed former SPA CEO Dr. William “Bill” Vantine to chair the board of directors.

No financial terms were disclosed, but the sale of Sabre also is an exit for its founder and now-former majority owner Phil Jaurigue.

He started Sabre in 1989 and returned to the chief executive position in 2021 after having stepped back briefly to focus on his board chairman duties.

Sabre describes itself as a provider of tech services and solutions in areas such as digital transformation, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, C5ISR, communications, and enterprise data management.

The company’s customer base includes the Navy, Air Force, Army, other Defense Department components and civilian agencies.
