Akima

The 10,000-employee government services provider has shifted 18-year company veteran Chris Jenkins to president of its construction and security solutions group.

Jenkins moves over to that operational role from his prior position as chief administrative officer for the company.

He first joined Akima in 2006 as president of its SAVA Workforce Solutions business.

Akima is a subsidiary of Nana, an Alaska Native Corporation owned by approximately 15,000 Iñupiat shareholders.

DCS Corp.

This 202 employee-owned government services company is following a busy 2023 on the bookings and executive appointment front with another promotion from within.

Mike Smith moves up to executive vice president and manager of its Army and Marine Corps sector as a three-decade veteran of DCS, which booked a potential $2.1 billion contract in the spring to support Army ground vehicle development programs.

Smith's career includes leadership roles over DCS' engineering and management services for the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command's Ground Vehicle Systems Center, a central hub for the branch's R&D work.

He also oversaw the expansion of DCS' prototyping facility in Littleton, Massachusetts to upgrade its assemblies, cables, harnesses and laboratories.

Maxar Intelligence

Private equity firm Advent International has made a series of changes to Maxar's structure since acquiring the space technology company in the spring of 2023, highlighted by a restructuring both into two businesses and of their leadership teams.

The Maxar Intelligence arm focused on satellite imagery and geospatial analytics has now hired a new chief technology officer in Arvind Srinivasan, a veteran of the global tech sector.

His career is highlighted by 13 years at Google that involved the commercialization of its Google Maps Engine cloud platform and leadership over the engineering team behind Google Earth's enterprise platform.

Srinivasan most recently oversaw large-scale infrastructure systems at Apple and Meta, the parent company of Facebook.

VivSoft Technologies

The open source-focused consulting firm has hired its first chief growth officer in Ryan Bolchoz, who joins after approximately two decades at Booz Allen Hamilton.

In addition to VivSoft's strategy, Bucholz will be responsible for aligning the company's research-and-development initiatives and its "Enbuild" product to the overall corporate vision.

Enbuild is designed as a software development accelerator to help government agencies iterate more automation functions into their own cloud-based or on-premise environments that are involved in the Air Force's Platform One effort.
