Brillient
Ramsey Price is now the digital transformation company's chief financial officer as it pushes to shape its growth trajectory and streamline operations.
The two-decade market veteran will manage Brillient's teams for its functions in finance, accounting, contracts and human resources. He also has responsibility for the company's inorganic growth strategy.
Price most recently was vice president of finance at Maxar Technologies. He is also a former chief financial officer for Vricon, a joint venture Maxar was a partner in and later took full control of, and senior finance executive at DigitalGlobe before it became part of Maxar.
DESE Research
This four-decade-old company whose acronym represents its key focus areas of Defense, Energy, Space and the Environment has a new chief technology officer to help oversee investments and other innovation-related efforts.
Dr. Timothy Barton's responsibilities will cover areas such as growth, strategy, technical differentiation, planning, execution, investments and change management.
A three-decade defense industry veteran, Barton was most recently CTO of Leidos' Dynetics subsidiary for three years. He spent 10 years altogether at Leidos in roles such as CTO for the defense group and CTO for its C4ISR systems operation unit.
Barton also worked for eight years at the "Old" Science Applications International Corp. prior to its 2013 split into Leidos and "New" SAIC. He started his career at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked on defense projects.
ManTech
Chris Cleary most recently was the Navy's principal cyber adviser for three years and now leads ManTech's global cyber practice as vice president.
The 25-year public sector veteran will be responsible for driving the technical strategy for ManTech's cyber innovation and capabilities business. He will report to Eric Brown, chief innovation officer.
In his most recent role, Cleary helped lead the implementation of the Defense Department's cybersecurity strategy across the service branch.
His career in the private sector includes roles at Leidos, Verizon and the former Sparta (now Parsons). He also has experience in managing programs for Cyber Command, the intelligence community and other government organizations.
Raft
Retired Air Force Col. Frederick "Trey" Coleman has joined the digital transformation startup as chief product officer, a role that includes responsibility over the portfolio and overall innovation efforts.
Most recently, Coleman served as commander of the Air Force's 505th Command and Control Wing that is responsible for improving readiness across the service branch through training and testing programs.
Coleman is the second major hire Raft has announced in the past two months, during which the company appointed former Novetta executive Jeanmarie Brown as chief operating officer.
