Microsoft loses federal business leader

Rick Wagner joined Microsoft in 2020 after a five-year stint at ManTech.

Microsoft's federal business president Rick Wagner has left the company after close to three years in that position to "pursue new opportunities," a company spokesperson has confirmed.

"We are deeply grateful for his leadership and contributions to the company and wish him all the best in the future,” the spokesperson said in an emailed statement. No other details regarding Wagner's future plans nor the transition in leadership at Microsoft were provided.

Breaking Defense was first to report on Wagner's departure.

Wagner joined Microsoft in 2020 after a five-year stint at ManTech with the latter three as president of its mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group. He worked for 15 years at the former TASC prior to ManTech.

MIcrosoft is ranked No. 60 on the 2023 Washington Technology Top 100.
