The 25-year market veteran most recently worked in a similar role at VMware's public sector business.

Red River has made yet another executive hire in the wake of its appointment of a new CEO and acquisition by a private equity firm prior to that.

Nearly two-decade government market veteran Dan Kent has joined Red River as chief technology officer to lead its team of engineers and technical talent in solution development, the company said Tuesday.

He most recently was lead public sector technologist at VMware, where he focused on work with agencies to get past security and operational complexities regarding their cloud computing migrations.

Kent joins Red River nearly one month after the technology integrator brought in former SAP North America executive Brian Roach as chief executive. Red River was acquired by private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management in 2021.

Kent's career also includes CTO and technical leadership positions at Idemia and Cisco.
