CTI brings in CACI, LGS veteran as tech chief
The two-decade industry veteran's areas of expertise include wireless, electronic warfare and cyber.
Defense software provider Chesapeake Technology International has hired a new chief technology officer in Jay Moorman, a two-decade industry veteran formerly of CACI International.
CTI touted Moorman's background across areas such as wireless, signal processing, software-defined radios, spectrum, electronic warfare, cybersecurity, the "Internet of Things" and C4ISR (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).
"Bringing someone with Jay's skills to CTI is a true game-changer in our ability to compete at a larger scale in our key focus areas across the defense and intelligence communities," CTI CEO Dustan Hellwig said in a release.
Private equity firm Bluestone Investment Partners acquired majority ownership in CTI last year to help the company pursue its next phase of growth.
Most recently, Moorman was chief of the CACI Labs organization that focuses on developing next-generation technology and platforms to help solve challenging problems at agencies.
He joined CACI in 2019 through its acquisition of LGS Innovations, where at the time he was president of the wireless solutions group. Moorman worked at LGS both during its period of private equity ownership and when the company was part of former parent Alcatel-Lucent.
