Digital Management Inc. brings in a new chief operating officer to work with the CEO on driving the company's continued growth with its private equity backing.

Digital Management Inc. has hired a new chief operating officer in Rocky Thurston, a nearly two-decade veteran and former executive at Peraton.

Thurston will work with DMI founder and CEO Sunny Bajaj on driving further growth across its federal and commercial businesses, the company said Wednesday.

For DMI, its appointment of Thurston comes nearly three months after private equity firm OceanSound Partners acquired a stake in the digital transformation services firm.

Bajaj overviewed DMI’s rationale for choosing OceanSound over a strategic acquirer and what is next for the company in this November episode of Project 38.

Most recently, Thurston was president of citizen security and public services at Peraton. His career also includes leadership roles at Perspecta, Accenture’s U.S. federal subsidiary, Lockheed Martin and AT&T.
