Leidos' latest exec realignment includes new space leader

Leidos is undertaking a series of changes and realignments in its senior leadership team including one appointment from within to lead the national security space market strategy.
Leidos has initiated a series of changes in its senior leadership team to take effect Monday as one executive prepares to retire this year.
The company said Thursday that Paul Engola, chief human resources officer, will move to executive vice president of national security space with responsibility for charting a growth path in that market.
Engola’s position as chief HR officer will be filled on a temporary basis by George Reiter, senior vice president of Leidos’ HR centers for excellence. Leidos will conduct a search for a new CHRO.
Jim Cantor, chief of performance excellence and strategic partnerships, will retire from the company later this year and is moving into a consulting employee role.
Leidos has created a new corporate operations role that has been taken up by current intelligence group president Vicki Schmanske.
Schmanske also becomes an executive vice president with this appointment and now holds responsibility over performance excellence, strategic partnerships, corporate real estate and facilities, security operations, marketing and communications, corporate strategy and special projects.
Roy Stevens, current head of business development and strategy, will move over to succeed Schmanske as intelligence group president. Stevens’ role as BD chief will be temporarily filled by Bill Bender, a senior vice president, while Leidos searches for a replacement.
Monday also sees the completion of one other leadership transition, where Christopher Cage succeeds the retiring James Reagan as chief financial officer.
