New agreement focuses on improving clinical training

With COVID-19 still looming over all other health care matters, one nonprofit organization and a second company involved in federal are working together to make a clinical diagnosis training program more available to health care students in the U.S.

NEJM Group and Education Management Solutions will make the former’s Healer platform available to 40,000 medical students and educators around the world that use EMS’ SimulationIQ product, the companies said Thursday.

NEJM Healer is based off a COVID-19 training program used by nearly 300,000 medical students, residents, doctors and other health care professionals.

For EMS, this further extends the company’s footprint and product into higher education alongside a noticeable federal presence.

Nearly 60 facilities of the Defense and Veterans Affairs departments use the EMS platform to link resources across enterprise networks, create scenario sessions and manage them with live or recorded video, and integrate multiple simulators for generating statistical reports.

The VA’s Health Administration uses EMS to provide curricula and sharing of best practices for their health care personnel. DOD and VA medical staff also train on the platform before they deploy to a mission.
