Accenture's federal shop secures $341M Commerce cloud contract

Accenture’s U.S. federal subsidiary books a $341 million contract to help the Commerce Department centralize administrative functions and business systems into a single cloud-hosted environment.
Accenture’s U.S. federal subsidiary has booked a potential 20-year, $341 million contract to help the Commerce Department centralize administrative functions and business systems into a single cloud-hosted environment.
Work will take place over one base year followed by up to 19 option years as the department seeks to increase its visibility into enterprise financial activities, Accenture Federal Services said Monday.
AFS will help Commerce consolidate business systems that support finance, acquisition, property, enterprise data warehouse and other functions into a commercial software-as-a-service platform in a hosted environment.
Through this Business Applications Solutions program, Commerce wants to help its finance data users attain more real-time analysis abilities and business intelligence tools.
Commerce has access to AFS’ lineup of FedRAMP-authorized solutions such as Accenture Federal Cloud ERP, Managed Detection and Response and the Accenture Insights Platform. The business has worked with Commerce since the early 2000s.
