Amentum adds new exec for nuclear unit
Amentum adds a new executive to help lead the nuclear unit as the now-former AECOM management services business further builds out its leadership team.
Amentum has hired nearly 35-year energy sector veteran Tom Foster as chief operating officer of the company’s nuclear and environment business unit, effective Monday.
Foster will oversee work on Energy Department contracts in areas such as radioactive waste management, demolition and remediation of radioactive waste and Cold War-era facilities in the U.S. and overseas locations, Amentum said Wednesday.
Germantown, Maryland-based Amentum is the former management services business of AECOM that opened for business as an independent entity in early February. A key piece of Amentum’s strategy is to infuse IT and other digital offerings into much of the work it already does in areas such as nuclear, where it has a large footprint.
Prior to this appointment, Foster was president and project manager at the Amentum-led Savvanah River Remediation joint venture.
