Lockheed adds energy sector vet to its board

Find opportunities — and win them.

Lockheed Martin's board of directors adds a notable veteran of the energy sector as a new veteran.

Lockheed Martin said Friday that its board of directors has elected nearly four-decade energy sector veteran Debra Reed-Klages as a new member.

She will join the board as an independent director and her term will begin on Nov. 1, Lockheed said in a regulatory filing.

Reed-Klages led Sempra Energy as CEO from June 2011 until May 2018, when she stepped down from that position to concentrate on her role as board of directors chairman. She then retired as chairman in December 2018.

Her career also includes time as CEO of SDG&E and SoCalGas, Sempra Energy’s regulated utilities in California.

This announcement comes in the same week that Lockheed said it would divest a portion of its energy business to concentrate that division more on core customers such as the Defense Department.
