Raytheon-UTC finance chief announced

Raytheon's finance chief will take on the same role at the future company being formed out of the megadeal with United Technologies Corp.

Raytheon Chief Financial Officer Anthony “Toby” O’Brien has been appointed to the same position for the future company being formed out of the merger with United Technologies Corp.'s defense businesses.

Raytheon CEO Tom Kennedy made the announcement during his company’s presentation at an investor conference hosted by Morgan Stanley in Laguna Beach, California.

This is the first confirmed executive appointment for what will become Raytheon Technologies outside of the initial announcement of Kennedy as chairman of the board of directors and UTC CEO Greg Hayes as chief executive, pending the deal’s closure next year.

Federal antitrust regulators are taking a close look at the megadeal and asked the companies for more information about the transaction in mid-August. Both Raytheon and UTC shareholders are scheduled to vote on the merger in separate votes Oct. 11.
