AeroVironment CFO to step down, search underway

Find opportunities — and win them.

AeroVironment's chief financial officer announces plans to leave the company and a search for the next CFO is underway.

Unmanned aircraft manufacturer AeroVironment said Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Teresa Covington will resign to take the CFO position at a private company, effective Oct. 18.

Brian Shackley, vice president and corporate controller, will become interim CFO on that same date and AeroVironment has started a search process to appoint its next finance chief.

Covington has been CFO for the Simi Valley, California-based company since 2011, while Shackley joined in January 2016 as director of reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Shackley has held his current role since December 2017.

Shackley spent nine years in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers prior to AeroVironment.
