Tyto Athene adds Kapoor, Johnson to advisory board

Tyto Athene names federal market veteran Kay Kapoor and former GSA executive John Johnson to its advisory board.

Tyto Athene said Thursday it has added longtime federal market veteran Kay Kapoor and former General Services Administration executive John Johnson to the company's advisory board.

They become part of a group led by chairperson and former intelligence community executive Joanne Isham that guides the government IT systems integrator on decisions related to its overall strategy.

Herndon, Virginia-based Tyto Athene was formerly the government business of Black Box until August of last year, when the unit was acquired by private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners for $70 million.

Kapoor was formerly president of AT&T's global public sector business and has also led Accenture's federal subsidiary as CEO. More recently, she founded her own company in Arya Technologies.

Johnson is a partner at consulting firm Deep Water Point and joined them after a long career in government service that included a stint as assistant commissioner for the General Services Administration's Federal Acquisition Service. He also has worked in the Defense Department.
