SAIC wins $188M FAA IT services pact

SAIC takes a $188 million contract for IT services at an Federal Aviation Administration office that houses its training academy and back office support for other agencies.
Science Applications International Corp. has won a potential five-year, $188 million contract to perform IT support services at a Federal Aviation Administration regional office.
Work will take place at the Oklahoma City-based Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, the FAA said in an award notice posted Wednesday. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is for one base year followed by four option years.
The FAA received three other bids including SAIC’s proposal, according to Federal Procurement Data System information.
MMAC houses an enterprise services center that offers back office and business support services to the Transportation Department along with other Cabinet-level agencies such as Agriculture, Commerce, Education and Homeland Security. Additional federal clients include the Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Personnel Management and Social Security Administration.
MMAC is also home to the FAA Logistic Center that supports air traffic controllers and aviation safety inspectors, plus the FAA Academy that is the agency’s principal training facility for air traffic controllers.
