Navy adds Accenture, Booz Allen to $980M audit readiness contract

The Navy adds one-time protesters in Accenture Federal Services and Booz Allen Hamilton to a $980 million audit readiness support contract.
The Navy has evidently headed off protests from Accenture Federal Services and Booz Allen Hamilton over a $980 million audit readiness support contract they missed out on originally.
Both companies will join Deloitte and KPMG on the contract first awarded in December of last year for work to help the Navy with its piece of the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness program, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
The Government Accountability Office dismissed all but one of Accenture’s and Booz Allen’s protests on April 20, while IBM withdrew its protest on March 5. One outstanding entitlement decision on Accenture’s protest is still pending from GAO, according to the agency’s bid protest docket.
Accenture, Booz Allen and KPMG were incumbents on the Navy FIAR contract. Deloitte is a newcomer and also won the $800 million Air Force audit readiness services contract in April.
Work supports the Navy’s effort to get and stay ready for an audit, which DOD is conducting across the entire department for the first time in its history.
Including the Navy, DOD is conducting 24 individual components that include the other service branches, so-called “Fourth Estate” agencies and other activities.
Those audits will be part of a consolidated audit to summarize results and conclusions.
