Peraton makes first post-Harris acquisition in deal for SRI

Peraton -- the former Harris Corp. IT services business -- makes its first acquisition as the independent company in a deal for Strategic Resources International.
The former Harris Corp. IT services business has made its first acquisition as an independent company almost one year after the transaction to create what is now known as Peraton.
Peraton said Monday it has acquired Strategic Resources International to bolster communications infrastructure offerings for global enterprises.
“The addition of SRI to the Peraton portfolio adds an important complement to our communications offerings through their extensive portfolio of telecommunications assets in the areas of mobile, (Internet Protocol) transport, and (Very Small Aperture Terminal),” Peraton CEO Stu Shea said in a release.
Harris divested its IT business in April of last year to Veritas Capital, which subsequently rebranded the unit to Peraton.
Shea joined the company as chief executive over the summer and has since hired several government market veterans to the Peraton leadership team.
Acquisitions would be part of Peraton’s growth strategy, Shea told Washington Technology in June of last year upon his appointment.
