SNA bests four to win $110M military medical examiner support contract

Alexandria, Va.-based small business SNA International takes a five-year, $110 million contract for scientific and technical work to the military's medical examiner office.
SNA International has won a five-year, $110 million contract to perform scientific and technical work in support of the U.S. military’s medical examiner office.
The Army took a different approach this time around and held a competition six years after a sole-source award for the work to the American Registry of Pathology. Four offers were submitted for the new iteration that was competed as a small business set-aside.
The Armed Forces Medical Examiner System comprises of forensic pathologists, forensic anthropologists and investigators that investigate military deaths around the world.
Within AFMES is a toxicological testing laboratory and DNA identification laboratory that is responsible for scientific consultation, research and education services in the field of forensic DNA analysis to the Defense Department and other agencies.
Alexandria, Va.-based SNA will perform the work through Sept. 14, 2022. American Registry of Pathology’s contract had a $91.8 million ceiling value with 84 percent of that spent to date, according to Deltek data.
