InfoReliance-led venture wins $182M Army cyber task order

A four-company joint venture managed by InfoReliance has won a five-year, $182 million task order to help the Army install and run a new managed cybersecurity system from partner McAfee.

InfoReliance’s partners in the SEWP Solutions LLC venture include Premier Systems Ltd., SwishData and Vion Corp. The venture holds a prime position on the potential 10-year, $20 billion NASA SEWP V IT product and services contract vehicle. The Army awarded the cyber order through SEWP V, InfoReliance said Thursday.

The Army sought a real-time network visibility and control platform to identify threats against its network and automatically report data to the Defense Department’s cyber scorecard. Additional goals include malware identification and immunization, data loss prevention and security hygiene.

Once installed, the McAfee system will cover approximately 1.4 million endpoints across the Army’s global IT infrastructure and offer users security and analytics functions. Army data centers will host all servers and storage for the system along with other required infrastructure.

The system will also have an open architecture component that lets McAfee partners and other software developers integrate new security technologies through a secure messaging fabric. This aims to help give the Army an ecosystem to integrate new security tools and sensors without vendor lock.

InfoReliance was acquired by ECS Federal in April.
