Jacobs Engineering Group has acquired cyber and data analytics contractor Blue Canopy to expand digital service offerings into the Treasury, federal education and health care agency communities.
Terms of the transaction were undisclosed. Blue Canopy recorded $104 million in revenue last year and has 450 employees. Investment bank Houlihan Lokey advised Blue Canopy on the transaction.
Reston, Va.-headquartered Blue Canopy brings to Jacobs a presence with the Treasury; Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; departments of Education, Health and Human Services and Homeland Security; and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Blue Canopy also works with agencies in the defense and intelligence communities.
Jacobs said the deal is part of its ongoing investments into its "Jacobs Connected Enterprise" portfolio of digital services intended to connect critical infrastructure and analyze data to defend against internal and external network threats.
Blue Canopy's prime IT contract vehicle portfolio includes the National Institutes of Health CIO-SP3 Small Business, Navy Seaport-e, General Services Administration IT Schedule 70 and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services SPARC.
The company is a 2016 GovCon Contractor of the Year award winner in the $75-300 million revenue category.
