Raytheon's BBN arm lands DARPA software contract

Raytheon's BBN Technologies subsidiary wins a contract to make software for DARPA to use in algorithms for computing platform tasking.
A subsidiary of Raytheon has won a four-year, $9.8 million contract to build software for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to use in algorithms and protocol stacks for collective tasking of computing platforms.
Raytheon BBN Technologies will work to help DARPA further develop decision systems that can operate in environments with variable and degraded network connections under the agency’s Dispersed Computing program.
Dispersed Computing’s goals also include management of large numbers of heterogeneous computing platforms and help move both code and data between users.
BBN Technologies will perform contract work in Cambridge, Mass. DARPA has obligated approximately $1.2 million in contract funds at the time of award.
