Who closed out 2012 with the biggest contract awards?

December was an active month for contracts as 2012 ended with more of a bang than a whimper. We saw a couple of big government contracts come down the pipeline, as well as saw a few good ol' IT contracts.

For the month of December, Washington Technology covered 20 contract awards.

Starting with No. 10, the countdown begins with: 

10. Harris wins $66M option year under space operations contract

Harris Corp. has won the fifth option year, worth $66 million, for its Network and Space Operations and Maintenance contract.

The contract is for 6 and half years, is used for the operation, maintenance, and logistical support of the U.S. Air Force Space Command’s 50th Space Wing Mission.

9. ManTech wins $69M order under its S3 contract

ManTech International Corp. won a $69 million task order under its Strategic Services Sourcing contract to provide information technology and knowledge management support services to the U.S. Army PEO C3T Military Technical Solutions Office, or MilTech.

Under the order, which has a one-year base and one option year, ManTech will provide a number of services for the MilSuite product portfolio and MilTech Consortium.

8. CGI Federal visa support work in China

CGI Federal won a task order with a value ranging from $94 million to $186 million from the State Department for visa support services in China.

The task order was awarded under the State Department’s Global Support Strategy task order contract, which is a 10-year, multiple-award contract . CGI's Stanley Associates subsidiary won the work.

7. 7 contractors win $249M command and control contract with Air Force

Seven contractors will compete for task orders under this contract with the Air Force for command and control application development and information services for air, space and cyberspace domains.

The winning contractors are:

6. 10 to battle for $315M Army Corps of Engineers contract

The Army Corps of Engineers picked 10 companies to compete for task orders under a $315 million contract.
They will supply services that support various security and control systems.

The 10 companies are:

• Honeywell HBS Solutions L.L.C.
• InDyne Inc.
• Johnson Controls BAS L.L.C.
• M.C. Dean Inc.
• Science Applications International Corp.

5. ISS wins $593M contract for intel analysis and data fusion

Intelligent Software Solutions will provide a software development framework for building intelligence analysis and data fusion software for the Air Force under the $593 million Air Space Precision Engagement Research and Engineering contract.

Under the contract, which was awarded the Air Force Research Laboratory, Information Directorate in Rome, N.Y., ISS will expand on its previous Web Enabled Temporal Analysis System Toolkit work, providing new innovations in areas such as intelligence analysis and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR.

4. Insights Public Sector wins $617.3M Microsoft contract

Insights Public Sector won a $617.3 million Army contract to supply Microsoft software license agreements.

The contract covers 1.5 million devices, and will be used by the Army to order Microsoft licenses through November 2015. The location of the work will be determined with each order.

3. 7 win $900M Navy contract for submarine C5ISR capabilities

Seven contractors have won a $179.9 million task order contract to provide production, installation and in-service support services to the U.S. Navy for work on submarines and other platforms. With options, the contract hits $899.5 million.

2. 12 win spots on $11B Coast Guard contract

The Coast Guard has picked 12 companies in the full-and-open portion of its $11 billion Technical, Acquisition and Business Support Services contract.

The service made awards in domain 1, track 1 of the contract known as TABSS. Domain 1 is for program management, engineering and technology expertise.

The 12 winners are as follow:

1. Six win spots on $22B Eagle II contract

The Homeland Security Department made some of the first awards under the seven-year, $22 billion Eagle II contract.

Six awards were made. The contract is replacing the first Eagle contract and is expected to be the primary vehicle for DHS to buy IT services.
