The Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy has launched a website to help companies with their market research.
The Small Business Data Resources website is a list of federal government and nongovernment data sources that can provide information from federal agencies, as well as nongovernment, private sector, university, nonprofit, international, and other sources.
The new site also points users to databases good for specific topics such as demographics, employment, finance, firm size data, health care, income and sales, taxes, and training.
“Over many years, Advocacy has used and helped develop some of the best business data available by firm size,” said Winslow Sargeant, chief counsel for Advocacy at SBA.
The Office of Advocacy has been mining federal data sources, such as the Census Bureau and the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, for decades and the new website allows small business owners, researchers and policy-makers take advantage of the office’s knowledge.
