Groh joins ranks at ESN

Denny Groh is hoping lightning will strike again as he takes on a new job as vice president of federal outsourcing with Engineering Services Network Inc.

Groh, a veteran of the government information technology contracting world, left RS Information Systems Inc. to join ESN. While at RSIS, he helped it move from small business set-aside contracts into the full-and-open competition, including winning a spot on the huge Alliant contract. RSIS is one of the largest privately held companies in the government market with $330 million in annual revenue.

ESN of Arlington, Va., is a service-disabled, veteran-owned company with about $20 million in annual revenue. Groh said in a letter to friends that his goal is to help it broaden its customer base and reach mid-tier status in the next two-to-three years. A primary contract vehicle for ESN will be its VETS contract, which is an award for veteran-owned businesses.

Before working at RSIS, Groh was an assistant commissioner at the General Services Administration, responsible for its Office of Service Delivery, Federal Technology Services. He managed multi-billion dollar contracts providing telecommunications services to federal agencies.

In the private sector he has worked for companies such as STG Inc., Siemens, Computer Sciences Corp. and Boeing Co. His government experience includes posts at the Treasury Department, Farmers Home Administration and Air Force Military Airlift Command.
