GSA Internet video to illuminate Alliant strategy

The General Services Administration will post a video on the Internet Feb. 21 about its new strategy and timeline for the multibillion-dollar governmentwide Alliant Full and Open and Alliant Small Business procurements, the agency has announced.
The video will cover major issues that have been raised since the initial draft requests for proposals were released, as well as the changes to the two IT procurements that GSA has made in response to those issues. The video also will contain an updated milestone schedule with a time frame for a second round of draft RFPs, the final RFPs and the contract awards.
"We decided to release this information on the Web, because we wanted to ensure that it would be available to all interested parties, rather than limiting the audience to those able to attend a traditional industry day," said John Johnson, GSA's assistant commissioner for service development and delivery, in a printed statement.
"There's a great deal of interest in these contracts, and the Web provides a venue that makes the information available to all, at their own convenience," he added.
GSA will post a notice on the FedBizOpps Web site on Feb. 21 for instructions on accessing the video.
When the Web presentation is released, members of industry and other interested parties can e-mail questions and comments to alliant@gsa.gov for the $50 billion Alliant Full and Open contract and sbgwac@gsa.gov for the $15 billion Alliant Small Business contract. GSA will post answers and responses on the respective Web sites www.gsa.gov/alliant and www.gsa.gov/alliantsb.
