The Naval Research Laboratory set up this contract to further build up its simulation and modeling expertise.

The Navy has awarded eight companies positions on a five-year, $243.9 million contract for research-and-development work focused on tactical combat and electronic warfare systems.

Naval Research Laboratory officials received nine bids in total for the contract that was reserved for small businesses, according to the Pentagon’s Monday awards digest.

Winners are as follows:

  • Applied Technology
  • Cutlass Systems Engineering
  • Envisioneering
  • Future Technologies Inc.
  • Intecon
  • ISYS
  • Remcom
  • Technology Service Corp.

Solicitation documents issued in October describe NRL’s key areas of interest as including systems engineering, combat systems analysis, electronic attack and electronic support systems performance, EW tactics development, test and evaluation, data collection, and computer modeling and simulation.

NRL set up the contract to develop and utilize simulation and modeling tools to aid in more effective evaluation of present, proposed and future EW concepts for aircraft and ship systems.

Awardees will focus their R&D and related efforts on combat systems testbeds, high-level architecture technologies, systems analysis, process definition, documentation and multi-lab team coordinations.
