Special Operations Command previews $2B network equipment recompete
The command uses the T-REX contract to acquire products for system integration, communications, signals processing and other key networking capabilities.
Special Operations Command has given industry a new glimpse at its plan to compete a $2 billion follow-on contract for equipment and services in support of SOCOM’s C4 and ISR functions.
A draft solicitation went live on Monday for the upcoming third iteration of SOCOM’s Targeted Requirement Execution contract which will have a seven-year period of performance.
SOCOM is eyeing “on or about” March 18 as the date to release T-REX 3’s final request for proposals and comments on the draft RFP are due no later than Feb. 10.
T-REX is broad in scope as it covers equipment for SOCOM’s command, control, communication and computers and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission sets.
The command uses the contract to acquire products for system integration, hardware and modifications, specialized communication solutions and networks, and signal processing capabilities.
SOCOM is also emphasizing continuous upgrades and new technology insertions for the new contract, for which the command plans to award between three and six positions on.
Three small businesses won positions on the current T-REX 2 contract in 2020 and that pact is slated to expire in October 2025. SOCOM has obligated approximately $812 million against the contract to-date with iGov Technologies the largest recipient of that spend at 69.6%, according to GovTribe data.
