Air Force leaders set up this procurement to include all of the support needed for countering adversarial threats.

The Air Force has awarded eight companies positions on the potential four-year, $5.4 billion recompete of a contract vehicle for close air support services to combat forces in that domain.

Air Force officials designed the procurement to include all of the support needed for countering adversarial threats.

The service branch received 11 bids in total for the Combat Air Force Contracted Air Support 2 vehicle that will see awardees vie for task orders, the Pentagon said in its Monday awards digest.

Winners are:

  • Airborne Tactical Advantage
  • Blue Air Training
  • Coastal Defense
  • Draken International
  • RAVN Group (newcomer)
  • Tactical Air Support
  • Top Aces
  • Valkyrie Aero (newcomer)

Each of the other six awardees are incumbents that will carry on from the original iteration, which was awarded in 2019 at a $6.4 billion ceiling for up to five years.

GovTribe data pegs the Air Force as having obligated $783.9 million in task order volume, or approximately 13% of that ceiling.

Airborne Tactical Advantage has taken the largest share of that spend at $343 million, or around 44%. Draken, Top Aces, Tactical Air Support and Blue Ai Training round out the top five.
