Navy chooses 18 for $249M transformation support contract

The Navy is looking to drive improvements in its financial management processes, people and capabilities.

The Navy has awarded 18 companies positions on a five-year, $249 million contract for professional services to aid in the service branch's push to transform its financial operations.

A total of 50 small businesses submitted bids for the contract as it was a set-aside competition, the Pentagon said in its Monday awards digest.

Contractors involved in this effort will compete for task orders to participate in activities aimed at improving the Navy's financial management processes, people and capabilities that include support for budget, accounting, data reconciliation and system modernization functions.

Navy officials are eyeing this procurement as a way to help senior leaders have more access to timely data on financial and logistics matters, solicitation documents outline.
