MDA chooses small biz JV for $347M planning support contract

VetTech will be at the center of the Missile Defense Agency's contribution to the so-called PPBE cycle for resource allocation across the Defense Department.
A small business joint venture owned by MDW Associates and Vali has won a potential five-year, $347.7 million contract for financial management, planning and other business support services to the Missile Defense Agency.
VetTech fended off one other proposal for the contract, the Pentagon said in its Tuesday awards digest. Other areas of work include strategic planning, accounting and cost estimating and analysis support services.
MDA managed this small business set-aside procurement through its family of administrative and acquisition support contracts known as TEAMS – short for technical, engineering, advisory and management support.
The contract VetTech won is called TEAMS Next Agency Operations and will support MDA's entire lifecycle of efforts related to its PPBE function – Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution.
Defense Department agencies and components participate in the cyclical PPBE process, through which senior DOD leaders determine funding requirements and allocate resources to satisfy those requirements.
VetTech will also work with MDA on its efforts related to equal employment opportunity and advocacy in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
