DOD's personnel info agency awards $1.5B IT modernization pact

The Defense Manpower Data Center is centering this effort around software development and IT security with a heavy leaning on cloud.
The Defense Department agency responsible for collecting data on uniformed personnel and their families has awarded nine companies positions on a potential five-year, $1.5 billion blanket purchase agreement focused on IT modernization efforts.
The Defense Manpower Data Center finalized its award of the Defense Enterprise HR Applications and Data Services BPA on June 6 and received 23 bids in total, according to Federal Procurement Data System records.
Awardees for are as follows:

- Booz Allen Hamilton
- Credence Management
- ClearAvenue
- Deloitte
- Dignari
- General Dynamics IT
- ICF
- IWorks
- Peraton
In Peraton's release on its selection, the company describes DMDC as also looking to improve its overall IT security posture by leaning heavily on the Amazon Web Services cloud environment.
DMDC has divided the BPA's scope of work across 25 task areas that include software development and sustainment, application rationalization, cloud migration, data management and security.
