The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration takes the next step in wrapping up all of the awards for its ProTech 2.0 small business vehicle.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has given industry a first look at its plan for competing the fourth and final block of its go-to contract for acquiring professional services from small businesses.

NOAA has already wrapped up awards for the potential $8 billion ProTech 2.0 vehicle's other three batches over the past 12 months including the most recent in April for Oceans, which focuses on scientific data collection related to costal and oceanic areas.

Oceans was preceded by the March 2023 award of Satellites and the February award of Fisheries, the track focused on NOAA's work to protect U.S. seafood resources.

A draft solicitation posted Friday calls industry's attention to the Weather domain, which zeroes in on the National Weather Service's mission and strategic plan. NOAA and the NWS will use that track to acquire scientific support services that aid in the collection of weather data and creation of models.

NOAA has scheduled a virtual industry day for Wednesday (tomorrow) to discuss the procurement. Comments on the draft request for proposals are due by June 7.

Like the other domains, Weather will have a five-year base period and a five-year option. The $8 billion figure is a ceiling to be shared across all four domains.
