FAA chooses 14 for $2.4B IT contract vehicle

Awardees will compete for application and technology modernization work at Federal Aviation Administration facilities across the U.S.
The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded 14 companies positions on a potential 10-year, $2.4 billion contract vehicle for general IT services across the agency.
FAA organizations will use the contract to acquire services and solutions for all aspects of their missions not related to the management of U.S. civilian airspace, the agency said in its Tuesday award notice.
Known as ITIPSS, the IT Innovative Procurement for Strategic Sourcing vehicle consolidates at least 70 predecessor contracts into this single mechanism for services that include application and technology modernization at FAA facilities.
ITIPSS' other core focus areas include email, instant messaging, information security, network storage, help desk, mobility, enterprise software and collaboration tools.
The new contract's size and scope drew wide interest across the industry, so much so that the FAA twice extended the deadline for bids so it could work through the 400 submitted questions.
A number of bidders was not known at the time of publication, but we will update this story upon confirmation. The FAA broke out the awards into a single unrestricted track and three for certain groups of small businesses.

Service-disabled veteran owned small business awardees are:
- Epsilon
- ITC-DE, which does business as DotIT
- Network Designs
