DHA chooses 11 for $43B medical staffing vehicle

The Defense Health Agency has awarded 11 companies positions on a potential 10-year, $43 billion contract vehicle for medical staffing support services at U.S. military health care facilities.
These awards are for the unrestricted portion of the Medical Q-Coded Support and Services-Next Generation contract, a follow-on program that is also known as MQS2-NG. The ceiling figure covers both the unrestricted and small business set-aside tracks together, the Pentagon said in its Wednesday awards digest.
Unrestricted awardees are:
- Decypher Health Services
- Epic Government (incumbent, also known as Federal Staffing Resources)
- KBR
- Loyal Source Government Services
- Luke & Associates (incumbent)
- Matrix Providers (incumbent)
- Optumserve Health Services
- Spectrum Healthcare Resources
- The Arora Group (incumbent)
- U.S. Got People
- Vesa Health & Technology (incumbent)
They are responsible for work to recruit, qualify and provide qualified staff to support direct patient care and other health activities at DHA hospitals and clinics across the U.S. and its territories.
Physician, dental, ancillary, nursing and general medical support are the contract's five major labor categories.
Bids for the small business portion of MQS2-NG were due to DHA by Sept. 1. The unrestricted pool's five-year base will start in June and a single five-year option would extend the work to May 2034.
MQS2-NG is both the successor to and a consolidation of the Medical Q-Coded Services and Medical Support Services contracts, also known respectively as MQS and MSS, which collectively have 63 incumbents.
The MQS contract started in October 2017 and expires in July of this year. MSS' ordering period began in May 2018 and appears to have lapsed in July 2023, according to Deltek data.
