General Dynamics IT wins $171M Air Force cyber recompete

The service branch is looking to further shore up vulnerabilities in its industrial control systems.
General Dynamics' IT services unit has won a five-year, $171 million task order to continue its work with the Air Force on researching and developing new ways to secure industrial control systems.
The Air Force Civil Engineer Center received five proposals for the work that will take place at 188 bases around the world, the Pentagon said in its Wednesday awards digest.
GDIT will provide cybersecurity services with the goal of ensuring that deployments of civil engineer control systems to users have less vulnerabilities. The company first won this work in 2019 as a task order via the Air Force's NetCents II contract vehicle for IT solutions, according to Deltek data.
The Air Force used the governmentwide Alliant 2 IT solutions vehicle to award this recompete.
AFCEC is responsible for facility investment planning, design and construction, real property management and environmental compliance and restoration at various installations worldwide. The center is a subordinate unit of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center.
