TechFlow secures $2.1B TSA logistics recompete

TechFlow has booked a potential seven-year, $2.1 billion contract that continues its status as the main provider of logistics support for explosive detection systems used by the Transportation Security Agency.
Approximately 300 airports and other government-designated facilities at major checkpoints use the systems, which TSA is looking to further enhance with automation and analytics technologies.
San Diego-headquartered TechFlow said Thursday that its work will include maintenance, repairs and other readiness services for the approximately 1,800 EDS systems. The new contract has an initial six-month base period, followed by six individual option years and another six-month option.
TSA made the recompete award on Nov. 29 and received two proposals including that of TechFlow, according to Federal Procurement Data System records. TechFlow's release on the new award cites TSA figures on how Nov. 26 set a single-day record of passengers screened at around 2.9 million.
The company won the current contract in 2018 at a $968 million ceiling, which represented a takeaway from at least three incumbents. TSA has since lifted the ceiling to $1.1 billion and obligated approximately 93% of that since, according to GovTribe data.
